Legal Aspects of Rental

FIRST: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT AND DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE. The Owner rents the described vehicle, which the Renter declares to receive in perfect mechanical, bodywork, paint, and interior conditions. Any previous mark or damage will be recorded in the inspection video made at the time of delivery.

SECOND: USE OF THE VEHICLE AND RESTRICTIONS. It is strictly forbidden to use the vehicle for purposes other than personal transportation. The Renter agrees not to use the vehicle to: a) Tow other vehicles; b) Participate in races or speed tests; c) Transport illegal goods or exceed passenger capacity; d) Drive under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances. Likewise, driving on unpaved roads (off-road), beaches or crossing rivers is prohibited. The vehicle may not leave the national territory.

THIRD: MAINTENANCE, DAMAGES AND RESPONSIBILITY. The Renter assumes full civil and material liability for any damage caused to the vehicle and to third parties during the term of this contract that is not covered by the insurance policy. In the event of an accident, collision or theft, the Renter must immediately notify the competent authorities and the Owner.

FOURTH: FINES AND TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS. The Renter assumes full responsibility for the payment of any fine, penalty or traffic violation, parking or tolls incurred during the vehicle rental period.

FIFTH: RETURN OF THE VEHICLE AND PENALTIES. The vehicle must be returned at the agreed date, time and place, in the same conditions in which it was delivered and with the same fuel level. A delay of more than two (2) hours in the return will generate the automatic charge of an additional rental day. Any missing fuel will be charged at the rate established by the Owner.

SIXTH: SECURITY DEPOSIT. The Renter delivers a security deposit intended to cover possible damages, fines, missing fuel or additional days. This deposit will be refunded at the end of the rental, deducting the corresponding charges according to the conditions of this contract.

SEVENTH: LEGAL AND CRIMINAL DISCLAIMER. In the event that the vehicle is used for illegal acts or the Renter is involved in any judicial or criminal proceeding, the Owner is absolutely and totally released and discharged from any civil, criminal or administrative liability, this contract serving as a legal release.

EIGHTH: JURISDICTION. Any controversy arising from this contract shall be governed by the current laws of the Dominican Republic.
